See, Through Me

This is my girl, Zosia. She’s 3 years-old and loves to make silly faces. Since becoming a mom, my photographic career has slowed a bit, this also has to do with the evolving field of journalism, but I have a good time photographing Zosia, and our time together.
Parenthood can be a bit stressful so I find it very important to maintain access to a creative outlet. The act of shooting, even just during a walk down the street, helps me feel excited and inspired. With each project, big or small (most of which are tiny these days) I feel a release of built up tension, almost like a trip to the gym.

For my first blog post I wanted to put up some personal work. I shoot on assignment most of the time so it’s fun to go out shooting without any parameters. Here are a few images from a trip to NYC with some of my best girl friends back in May, 2011.
